Textbook Adoption:
State of Indiana Textbook Adoption Site
Effective July 22, 2009, Hoosiers can review and comment on proposed Mathematics textbooks, and related teaching materials, that could be adopted for use in Indiana public school classrooms beginning in Fall 2010. Educators, parents, students and all interested persons are welcome to review the textbooks and submit an evaluation. The deadline to submit the evaluation comment forms to the Department of Education is September 2, 2009. The Advisory Committee on Textbook Adoption will hold a public hearing on this same date, they will also be voting on the submitted textbooks at this time. Also on September 2, 2009 the Indiana State Board of Education will meet for the final approval of the Official Textbook Adoptions for the Mathematics Categories. The selected textbooks will be used for six years. There are ten statewide public review sites, including one at Purdue University's Technology Resources Center. Phone 494-5677 for location and current hours, or visit their website at www.trc.purdue.edu.

College of Education IT Usage Disclaimer for the Software Remote Application Portal
All applications accessed via this portal are provided by the Purdue ITaP software remote group "as is" and no direct support is available from the College of Education Information Technology Team

What is Sofware Remote?
Software Remote (formerly DACS) provides free access to software from any computer with an internet connection and a web browser. Many software programs are available, including Adobe/Macromedia products, SAS, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD. The software programs appear to run on your desktop, but are actually running on the Software Remote servers. Keyboard strokes, mouse clicks, and screen updates are transmitted between your computer and the server. Because of this technology, these software programs can even be used with a dialup Internet connection.
Access
- Go to the Software Remote website at http://goremote.ics.purdue.edu.
